As I mentioned in an earlier post, I lost my voice from August 1 through September 10 due to vocal chord stretching or damaging during the pretty delicate surgery I had to remove the right lobe of my thyroid that had the cancer. The first Videostroboscopy exam showed there was damage to the right vocal chord. It was thin and barely moving.
Today, I go for another Videostroboscopy exam. This time, I know what to expect so there is no apprehension. She did the exam and we were both pleasantly surprised that the right vocal chord was thickening up and starting to move. Great news! The woman doing the exam was pleased and told me that with time, I would most likely heal completely. I was to still take care of my voice so no yelling, singing or using it for long periods of time. It was good to know and even though I had some strange sensations of a kind of warbling in my throat if I did use my voice too long, I was on the mend. Thank you God!
