Since I had already had Thyrogen shot #1 the day before, I felt like a pro going back to get the second one. This time my experience was the same except with a different RN who was a lot more personable that the one I had the day before. Hey, we are all different, right.
We joked about which hip and then I got the shot. She walked me out this time and we chatted about many things including gluten free and dairy free diets. She had a friend who did both and I got a great tip about a dairy free ice cream. SoDelicious Gluten Free Cookie Dough ice cream. That is definitely on my list after this low-iodine diet. If you are looking to go dairy free you might want to check this out. http://sodeliciousdairyfree.com/products/coconut-milk-frozen-desserts
Sorry, I do digress.
This time, I knew I what to expect so I ran some errands and even went to the mall (first time in 8 weeks). It felt good and this time I wasn't as tired. Perfect, shot #2 down. Now these shots just needed to do their job and stimulate what was left of my thyroid so the RAI could zap it!
