Now is the time to pull out your pieces from last fall and take inventory of what you can still wear and what you need to add.
I’ve done more research since the last newsletter and thought you would like to know the top colors for fall. They are earth tones (sand, beige, taupe), purple, gold metallic, olive/military green, gray, coral, turquoise, rose and chocolate. Do you wonder where these color selections come from and who decides what colors are in for the season? The selections come from Pantone.
“The PANTONE VIEW Colour Planner is a biannual trend forecasting tool that offers seasonal color direction and inspiration 24 months in advance for multiple usages, including menswear, women’s wear, activewear, cosmetics and industrial design.” For the Pantone Fashion Color Report 2010 you can visit http://donnagamacheglobal.com/gamache-panache-picks/.
Did you notice this color system is also used for costmetics and industrial design and what is not mentioned is that it is used for interior design as well. Pretty interesting, huh?
What does that mean for you and me? It is just a guideline we can use to update our look in keeping with the season. My true love of all the colors this season are the purples. I have already added a great purple purse and pair of booties. And just think about how we can mix the deep purple with the camel, metallic and olive colors. Oh my, what fun. Just be sure when you do mix the colors, you have the right hue. For example, mix a lighter colored purple with a dark olive to make a statement.
Take some time this season to go through your clothes and see what you can update using one of these top colors. And, for those of you who are the Trendy Alluring style, just be careful you don’t overload the new colors and trends.
